Leaving alone the most unexciting backround ever. I decided to try out a new paint style!!!
Y'seee, I'm terrible at using SAI, and I'm just 10000x more comfortable in Photoshop, so I like finding ways to make SAI-like effects in Photoshop. While it's *impossible* for PS to be anywhere NEAR as crisp and smooth as SAI, I think it's overall capabilities for additional editing are simply stronger, so I tried to imitate the "fringe" effect from SAI in PS. On top of that, I decided to add a textured layer to make the piece look more detailed and interesting (since it really isn't -- it's a clever deception????).
*sigh*. Something tells me I'll have to get use to using SAI nonetheless. The best drawing program is either a clever use of all of them, or expert use of one of them, I can't say I have the latter down pat haha
Oh! This is Maya! She's an OC. And kickin' butt
Time: 5 hours Program: All sketched in PS; some colored in SAI; the rest in PS Best Part: Using fringe in SAI, learning to make it in PS Hardest Part: Getting a texture that doesn't effect/colour the original piece too much
I've had fun with folds lately I guess. Maybe could have used more gleam... I'm trying to avoid the stark "color dodge" highlights these days though.... feels to digital I guess. Thanks though, good to see ya around still
I think I'd do more of a gleam on the hair where the lighting is shining, but that's just my style talking lol.
